Miranda Jean Rinn Memorial Mini Sessions

This weekend I had the opportunity to photograph many gorgeous families. The Miranda Jean Rinn Memorial mini sessions raised over $600 to help benefit the memorial, how amazing?! Even through the rain, I captured beautiful smiles of sunshine.

As I mentioned in a previous post, Miranda's story has had such an impact on my heart. I couldn't be happier to help, and host these sessions. Thank you to each family that participated, and to the Rinn Family for all of their love and allowing me to have a part in their amazing cause. Hugs to you!

Baby Miranda up in Heaven, we love you!

Wildflowers & You | Miranda L. Sober Photography images

Another recent Douglas session was spent beneath the trees, and amongst the wildflowers. Spring is in the air, and it's gorgeous! I was thrilled to photograph yet again, another friend from my childhood hometown. Can't you see the beauty just shine right through her? Steph is the most beautiful, charming soul, that roams the small town. Very rarely do I not see a smile upon her sweet face, or hear her laughter in the air. Her happiness and sense of humor are unlike any other I have known, and her optimistic personality makes every situation bright.

As we met at our location spot for her session, tiny little Steph had the biggest grin upon her face. Happy about where her life has brought, her, I could see the sparkle in her eye as she introduced me to her boyfriend, Curtis. Although he may have been the quietest individual I have every photographed, he didn't need to say a word to show his care for Steph. I was excited to share this special time in both of their lives, as they are expecting a little babe in December! I send all my love their way, and wish them the best.

All these cowboy hats in the past images are making me feel like I'm living back in Wyoming!

Two Country Love Birds | Miranda L. Sober Photography photo ideas

It's great living so close to my childhood home. Douglas, Wyoming is a tiny little town, a place that holds so many memories. Memories that would not be possible without the wonderful friends that live there. Because I am only a short distance away, I am able to travel back, and catch up with those friends from time to time. Often times, I even get lucky enough to photograph them and their families ;) It is unbelievable how quickly time passes by. From tying your shoes in Kindergarten, to playing High School sports, your childhood passes by before you have a chance to even realize just how fast it's passing. I was able to share my High School days with this gorgeous blondie! And I cannot believe how much our lives have changed since then. She is now the amazing wife to her lucky husband, Chuck. They just celebrated their 1st wedding anniversary together (Happy anniversary to you, Beka and Chuck!). Crazy in love, they began their lives together in the small town of Wheatland, Wyoming. Besides spending time together on their quiet country land, they are passionate about their two dogs, and the art of fishing. Snow or sunshine, I've seen these two with a pole in their hands. And anyone that knows anything about Wyoming's winters, that's dedication!

It was a pleasure meeting Chuck, and of course visiting like the good ol' days, with Beka! Although I had photo ideas planned, these two were naturals and made my job easy!It was great to photograph these two country lovebirds on this land they call home, and to share the beginning of their love story.

Fort Collins family photographer | You are my sunshine

You are my sunshine. This family radiates more than just sunshine. It's a beauty that you can't put into words. As a Fort Collins family photographer, I am lucky enough to say I absolutely love my job.

For years, I have been dear friends with this gorgeous mamma. We went through grade school together, laughing about who wore the shortest high waters, or who could act out scenes from Napoleon Dynamite better (why we loved that ridiculous movie, who will ever know?!). Her hugs will make your day, and her laughter will fill your heart.

I couldn't be happier for her, or more proud of who she has become. She is an amazing mother to this little girl, and soon to be another. What a lucky guy her husband is! And a great father to Mika as well.

Photographing this session was like magic. After an overcast day, the sun peeked right through the clouds, and gave us exactly the light we wished for. The mountains couldn't have been more blue, and the grass more green. The location was breathtaking. Up in the mountains of Wyoming, it will always be one of my absolute favorite shooting locations. How lucky am I to have such a place?

As if I weren't there at all, these three went about exploring the hills. If it wouldn't have been for my random bursts of excitement, you would have thought it was only those three. Their pure happiness showing right through, just to be together. Their laughter echoed in the cool air, making me smile. I don't think my smile disappeared the entire session. Especially when mom and dad had to chase down little Mika to prevent her from eating a random cow-pie here and there. Yummy.

With all my heart, I am in love with everything about this session, every image. And I cannot thank this family enough for allowing me to be their family photographer. XO

Family Portrait Photography | Miranda L. Sober Photography

Something about family portrait photography melts my heart. Maybe it is that every member of the family is together at once. It could be the way I see the chemistry and joy that the whole family shares, and how even just after an hour long session I feel as if I have known them for years.  It's the way that mom and dad hold their little one's. Or the way that their children race to them for that warm comforting hug. It's the natural bond that no photographer can "pose", or "create". I was thrilled to meet this momma! As the winner of a recent mini session giveaway, I couldn't wait for her session.  She spent her college years here in Fort Collins, attending Colorado State University.  We talked all things Colorado, from the weather, to her amazing hairdresser, to a recent concert she went to in Red Rocks (lucky!). Isn't she gorgeous!? Her and her husband are so sweet. I was surprised to hear too, that her husband knew members of my extended family growing up. We live in such a small world!

And as for these two tiny babes, they were wonderful! You would have never known they had wet feet from a rainstorm the night before. They ran around exploring the location, picking flowers, and spotting eagles up above. Giggling and full of hugs, this brother and sister share a special bond. He had a hand to guide her up the hill, and kisses for the top of her sweet head of curls.

I hope to see this charming little family again soon!

Miranda Jean Rinn Memorial mini sessions

Growing up in a small town, it's easy to know everyone you pass by. I've known the Rinn family for some time, as I worked under Jenn during my summer job throughout my college years. There wasn't a day I remember that she didn't wave hello as she drove by, or asked each of my coworkers how they were doing, or simply have a smile on her face. I knew her and her husband had two absolutely adorable little boys, and were soon expecting a little girl on the way.

I will never forget that day of work, asking Jenn about her little bean that would soon be welcomed into the world, the day she told me her name would be, Miranda. Still, now, that makes my heart beat fast.

Miranda Jean Rinn was born on July 1oth, 2011. This gorgeous gift was born without a heartbeat. After the doctor was able to restart her heart, strong little Miranda was able to share 36 hours with her loving parents, and her big brothers, until she returned back home.

I wish to give this family a huge hug, one they can hold onto forever. I can't help but feel a strong bond with each of them, as I know my little brother is watching baby Miranda in Heaven. I can imagine their smiles as they look down at each of us day after day, sending us little reminders here on Earth that we will see them soon.

With many sorrowful hearts, friends continued to ask what they could do to help. This encouraged the Rinn family to start the Miranda Jean Rinn Memorial Fund. The memorial was created to "pay forward" all the support their family received, and still continues to receive. The funds that they earn from donations are gifted to families who are facing mounting financial burdens because of their children's special medical needs. How amazing.

These two boys are now big brothers to their gorgeous little sister, Harper Rinn. Her precious, curly haired, giggling self, helps share this family's smiles, love, and happiness.

I have been so grateful to hear their story. A story that is truly their own. As my gift to the Rinn family, while I wish I could do so much more, I would love to provide my love and support.

Miranda L. Sober Photography will be hosting family mini sessions on June 7th and June 8th in Douglas, Wyoming. All sessions are $250, which includes a 20 minute mini session (up to 5 people), a viewing session, and 5 digital images of your choice.

50% of the proceeds will be donated to the Miranda Jean Rinn Memorial. There is limited availability, so be sure to contact me as soon as possible to ensure a session.
