Happy 2017 | Colorado Lifestyle Photographer

Colorado Lifestyle Photographer, Miranda L. Sober Photography This year has been such a milestone as a photographer, a business owner, and person. Your families, your lives, and your stories have opened up my eyes. Because of you I see a world full of silly giggles, endless hugs, toothless grins, and salty baby tears. You've given my heart happiness, and I forever cherish each and every one of you. Thank you, for your huge support and trust!

While I have a hard time saying goodbye to 2016,  I have so much in store for your family this upcoming year! I've made my list of resolutions, some that I am hoping impact our upcoming sessions for the great.

• Grow in my relationship with God. To trust in him and his timing.

• Be present.

• Make it simple, but significant.

• To let life shine through the photos I take of your family, to see each and every family for their unique beauty, and to let my work reflect God's everyday miracles.

• Overload my Golden dog with more kisses than in 2016.

• To not be afraid to break out of my comfort zone, and bring on new adventures.

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year! Now, let's get back to documenting that beautiful, raw, heart pounding story of yours! xo

Alaska 2016

Alaska, you were just as gorgeous as I dreamed you would be.

It's funny, when you dream of visiting somewhere. What will it be like? Who will I go with? Is it everything I hope it will be?

My husband and I had the opportunity to visit Alaska this past August, and let me tell you, it's a world unlike any other. Exactly as I imagined, but better. The air was cool and fresh, but humid. The people were friendly, in flannel and boots. ;) The forest is dense, and actually like a rainforest, but without the palm trees and sand. It's hard to fully explain it's beauty. But it's definitely a location you should add to your own bucket list.

We flew into Seattle (Yes, the home of Starbucks. And I didn't even get a coffee?! I'll blame it on the excitement, but this mistake won't be happening again). Our cruise line was great, like it's own city on the ocean. Shane had never been on a cruise, so it was an experience for him. I think he loved it, the never-ending food and soft serve ice cream, the casino, and all the other activities were right up his alley. He's quite the traveler.

Our cruise ported in Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, and Victoria British Columbia. Each location was completely different from the other, and so beautiful in it's own way. If I had to pick, I would say Juneau and Victoria were my favorite.

Ketchikan: We got a sweet little tour from a local. He took us to see bears, and there were no bears. But isn't that usually how it goes on a tour? ;) We did however learn all about the local Totem Poles and the stories behind them. Many of them are quite sad actually. We devoured the best fish and chips ever, and walked the town.

Juneau: Shane's old College roommate, Ryan grew up in Juneau, and lives there now with his beautiful wife. It was wonderful seeing them, and getting a better tour than we could have asked for. They took us to the Mendenhall Glacier, which is incredible! I was dying to see some bears, and I was able to cross that off of my list thanks to them. If you get a chance, be sure to eat at the Mexican Restaurant, El Sombrero. Ryan and his family have owned the restaurant for quite some time, and I must say, it's some of the best I've had in a very long time! Thanks Ryan and Mallory for the tour, the food, and the great company. We hope to see you again very soon! Let's get that trip planned.

Skagway: I'm not sure there is much to say about Skagway. It's a very small town, with a population of about 400 people. But needless to say, beautiful. We spent the day walking around town, enjoying the sunshine and Shane's Birthday. Wahoo, the big 25!

Victoria BC: Oh my goodness. It's architecture, beautiful ocean front, and downtown had me so in love. Although we didn't have as long as I would have liked here, it was definitely at the top of my list. With our sea legs, we walked from our ship to downtown, allowing us to go through the gorgeous neighborhoods. We did a little shopping, ate dinner, and admired the view. You have to go, you have to.

I could share so much more, and I definitely will if we get the chance to chat! All in all, it's an adventure I'll never forget. Thank's to my husband, I'm so lucky to be able to explore life with you. xo

Happy Birthday To My Husband

"You are the high in my noon, the flat in my jack, the jelly in my bean, the hop in my scotch, the fortune in my cookie, the grand in my canyon, the bees in my knees, the zig in my zag, the rock in my roll, the fox in my trot, the pow in my wow, the gee in my wiz."

- H. Jackson Brown Jr.

Shane, My Husband -

Happy Birthday! A Happy 25th Birthday that is.

When I tried to come up with some clever Happy Birthday cheer to share with you and the world, all that could come to mind was the cheer you bring me. We've spent many Birthday's together, yours and mine. But this year, we are married, so I think that makes this one that much more special. And, we are in Alaska. Who would have thought. If you would have asked my little 'boys have cooties' 8 year old self if I would be married to that crazy boy across the playground with the cute little cowlick, I'm sure I would have first, gotten bright red, but then giggled and said 'no way, José'. But really, I think I knew you would always have a big place in my heart. You've always been on my mind. Always bringing those butterflies to my stomach. So fast forward some years later, and lookey here, you're stuck with me! Thank you for always loving me. Thank you for providing for our family. Thank you for bringing us to Alaska and giving me the best week ever. Thank you for reminding me that life can be a roller coaster sometimes, but I'll always have you. I love you.

Again, Happy Birthday. Remember I'll always be just that little bit older, and that little bit wiser. ;)

Happy Birthday, Miranda L. Sober Photography wishes her husband a Happy Birthday

Home Sweet Home | Fort Collins Photographers

My husband and I have been waiting anxiously to share our big news, and we are a bit late on doing so.. We are homeowners! This Spring we moved into our first home, and we are thrilled! Together we have a list full of dreams, and now we can check one more off of our list. We are so excited, and can't wait to memories upon memories within these walls. I would say Remi is pretty excited too, as a 100 pound Golden Retriever, he's been enjoying the space. ;) I know I say this so often, but I can't express it enough, I'm so very lucky. xo

Happy Birthday Remi | Lifestyle Photography

Okay, yes I'm that crazy dog lady that obsesses over her dog, and celebrates his big birthday. Remi is three! He's fluffy as usual, loves his stuffed rabbit, Mr. Roger the II (Mr. Roger lost to a game of tug-of-war), and enjoys getting cuddled unlike any other. Remi believes he is a human, and that's okay with my husband and I. He's a scaredy cat that acts tough. He's terrible at playing fetch. And like myself, he's not really a fan of being all alone. That's why we fit well together. He has my heart, and I love him so much. Happy Birthday, Remi! Lifestyle photography, Miranda L. Sober

The One | Colorado Lifestyle Photographer

Colorado photographer, Miranda L. Sober Photography shares wedding photography and wedding danceWedding Photography Credit: Kerinsa Marie Photography

Shane and I were married this last September. It was a perfect day, we couldn't have asked for anything more! Except, maybe the right song for our first dance. ;)

We were so excited about our BIG wedding song. It was that song you search and search for, the one that is supposed to resemble your whole BIG day and your BIG future ahead. It was perfect.

However, as we joined together anxiously to dance in front of everyone, a song began to play that wasn't ours.  The song was fast, almost like rock-n-roll, I can't even explain. Truth is, if I heard it again I probably wouldn't even know it was that song. I remember my eyes getting HUGE as I looked at Shane thinking he was playing some kind of sick joke on me (not the time, Shane!). But he gave me the same expression right back. Our DJ played the wrong stinkin wedding song!? So imagine Shane and I, slow dancing to some fast pace, head banger music. I think the entire crowd was confused. So if you were there and you are reading this now, please know, Shane and I aren't secretly dreaming of becoming the next ACDC.  And we thank you for sticking around, ha!

We laugh about it now, because come on, what do you do. :) Our actual wedding song is below, I think you'll find it more fitting.

Rock on, man.
