the dog days are over

Where did this summer go? It was like we all blinked and it just disappeared. However, I would have to say it was one of the best ones yet.  I think these two below would agree. ;) Tell me, how did you spend your summer? Cheers to what's ahead this fall!

who i am, what is my style | lifestyle photographer

Who am I? What is my style of photography? Good questions. I have found through my photography adventure, I've evolved into someone who no longer sees life so shallow. I see every little thread of detail. Every strand of hair. How every emotion should be captured, sad or happy. Every ray of sunshine, and how it would photograph upon your beautiful skin perfectly. My loyalty is strong for all natural light. I have found that I no longer admire those bright, colorful shades or patterns. Simple and white are my go to. You'll see my clothing choices and home decor to resemble that, as I believe that photographs best. I used to be frightened of newborn photography, now those lifestyle, real, honest, moments are my absolute favorite to photograph. Maybe because I know they are so short lived and carry a heart-full of emotion. I still love maternity photos, all things children, the value of senior photography, and the importance of a full family photography session. All equally important and equally essential. I am a lifestyle photographer, cherishing those raw and honest moments. I find that I continue to grow within this style I so deeply want to express, determined to be known for it. I want who I am to resemble my style of photography from this day forward.

happy father's day | for my dad

Happy Father's Day to my amazing father. First, I can't tell you how enormously thankful I am not only for ALL that you do for me, but for being my dad. You are my supporter, my rock, my laugh when times are hard, my comfort when I'm sad, my heart and soul. You're my dad, and I'll always be your girl.

Thank you for making all that I have today possible. You've always put our family before yourself, loving us every moment of every day. You are the glue that holds us together. You are our light.

You always say you just wish for me to be happy. Dad, you make me happy.

Thank you for teaching me the life necessities. For being patient with me. For teaching me how to be a hard and dedicated worker. You are my role model.

Thank you for your prayers, your guidance, your advice.

Thank you for bringing me into this world. Thank you for making me your oldest. Thank you for loving me how you do.

I wish I could explain in words how much our family deeply appreciates you. Beyond any amount imaginable. Dad, you've made your four children so very proud. We can say, we have the best Dad in the world.

With tears in my eyes, I will never be able to tell you enough, how much I love you.

father's day

happy birthday levi

Today I would like to wish my baby brother, Levi a very Happy Birthday. I am sure your celebration up in Heaven is more gorgeous than any of us could ever imagine.

But I still can't describe in words how much I miss you. How much my heart still loves you, more than ever before.

Life is so different than from when you left. You wouldn't believe it. Yet, I am sure you already know as you are looking down on us everyday.

I want you to know Levi, every moment that passes by you cross my mind. Your beautiful soul and sweet smile.

I love you. I miss you. Happy Birthday.

happy mother's day | for my momma

Happy Mother's Day to my one-and-only, beautiful momma. As a mom, you have taught me so much. To follow my dreams, that family comes first, to love God. You've taught me how to become a woman, and how to care for others.

Thank you for teaching me the life necessities, like how to 'properly' clean a house, how to pull a weed from it's root, and how to successfully hard-boil eggs. ;)

I appreciate all that you have done and continue to do. Like taking all of us kids to the lake. Like doing our dirty laundry growing up. Like dog-sitting my crazy fur child, Remi. I know he isn't always easy.

Thank you for reminding me that it's okay to be sad sometimes. Thank you for bringing me into this world. Thank you for making me your oldest.

Please know, my mother, your four children love you beyond measure. And we are so very thankful for you.

I hope to someday become a momma just like you.

a few things i've learned from my dog

dog lessons, MIranda L. Sober Photography It's true, I'm overly obsessed with my golden retriever. But really, who can resist that face?! If there are a few things I've learned from Remi, it's this:

  • Play like you're young
  • Greet every stranger you pass by
  • Take time to stop and smell the roses
  • Cuddle with those you love
  • Enjoy the little things (play with sticks, savor each treat, take time for evening walks)
  • Don't hold grudges
  • Be curious
  • Run your heart out
  • Roll the windows down and feel the breeze through your hair
  • Be a good listener
  • Daily naps are okay
  • Always love
